Serving Abbotsford
Indigenous Counselling in Abbotsford, BC
Ch’íyáqtel Wellness is based about 30 minutes down the highway from Abbotsford, at our centre on Stó:lō territory in Chilliwack — territory Abbotsford shares, and that sits close by Semá:th (Sumas) First Nation and Mathxwí (Matsqui) First Nation. Most people in Abbotsford see a counsellor here by video or phone; if an in-person session feels right, Bailey Rd is a short drive away, not a trek. Our counsellors are FNHA-registered and bill FNHA directly, so we’ll help you check your eligibility before you book anything.

Getting care from here
How we reach you
Abbotsford is close enough to Chilliwack that an in-person session is a real option — about 30 minutes down the highway to 46770 Bailey Rd. Most people we see from Abbotsford still choose video or phone, and it’s the identical session either way, so the drive is a choice, not a requirement.
What this is
Counselling for people in Abbotsford from a centre that’s close by, not remote — our office sits about 30 minutes away at 46770 Bailey Rd in Chilliwack, on Stó:lō territory, and Ch’íyáqtel Wellness is part of Tzeachten First Nation. Most people we see from Abbotsford choose to meet by video or phone; the same counsellors are also there in person if a drive down the highway works better for you.
Our approach
We practise Two-Eyed Seeing — traditional Stó:lō knowledge held alongside modern clinical care, neither one asked to make room for the other. Most sessions with people in Abbotsford happen by video or phone, with the same counsellors and the same approach you’d get sitting across from someone in person.
What it costs
Our counsellors are FNHA-registered, and we bill FNHA directly — eligible members pay nothing out of pocket, and there’s no claim to file afterwards. If you’re covered by NIHB instead, or you’re not sure what you’re covered by, ask us and we’ll check with you.
Getting started
Send us a message or call. Tell us whether you’d rather meet by video or phone, or make the drive to Bailey Rd, and we’ll help you check your eligibility, match you with a counsellor, and book your first session.
