Counselling

Counselling that starts with who you are

Culturally safe, trauma-informed counselling for First Nations people across British Columbia — by video or phone, or in person in Chilliwack.

Our approach

Care that doesn’t ask you to explain yourself first

Our counsellors are trauma-informed and culturally safe, and they understand the specific weight of intergenerational and residential-school trauma without you having to set the scene.

Two-Eyed Seeing

The traditional knowledge of the Stó:lō people held alongside modern clinical care, neither one asked to make room for the other.

Wherever you are

Sessions run by video or phone anywhere in British Columbia, or in person at our Chilliwack centre — being outside a major centre shouldn’t decide whether you get care.

We handle the paperwork

Our counsellors are FNHA-registered and bill FNHA directly. We’ll help you check whether you’re eligible before your first session.

FAQ

Common questions

Who can see a counsellor?

First Nations people in British Columbia, on or off reserve. If you’ve been told to find a provider on a list and didn’t know where to start, that’s exactly the part we take off you.

How are sessions delivered?

By video or phone anywhere in British Columbia, or in person at our Chilliwack centre. Working virtually matters if you’re outside the Lower Mainland — you don’t have to travel to be seen.

Is counselling covered?

If you’re a First Nations person in BC, the First Nations Health Authority may cover your mental-health counselling. Our counsellors are FNHA-registered and bill FNHA directly. We’ll help you check whether you’re eligible before you book — and if you’re covered by NIHB instead, or you’re not sure what you’re covered by, ask us anyway.
